There's nothing better than holding a warm handcrafted pottery mug. It just feels different than a regular mug. We're willing to bet that if you're reading this you likely know exactly what we're talking about or at the very least can appreciate the beauty of handcrafted Canadian pottery.

Our love of Canadian pottery inspired us to write this round-up blog post and feature some of our favourite potters and some amazing shops that sell Canadian pottery. This is by no means an exhaustive list of Canadian potters but hopefully it helps you discover a new favourite. Enjoy!

First up we have Lagom Studio Pottery based in Hillsdale, ON. Cory-Lynn Styles, the owner and creative, was inspired by the Swedish approach to living called 'lagom' which means 'just right'. Her pieces are in fact 'just right' with the perfect mix of details and calming vibes.

She's happy to create custom pieces for you and offers unique classes and workshops at her studio. You can even grab a paint your own pottery kit to do at home. Lagom Studio Pottery is definitely the place to let your creativity run wild.

Pretty Little Pots (Edson, AB)

Next up we have Pretty Little Pots based in Edson, AB. The owner, Kerri, enjoys creating pieces for your home that you can enjoy for years to come. Her style is varied which means her in stock pieces are always changing. From whimsical to rustic to elegant, she has something to suit every style. Next up is Sage Ceramics based in Lunenburg, NS.This Canadian pottery is handcrafted and designed using nature as inspiration. We especially love this two-tone blue mug, reminding us of the ocean.

Token Home Goods based in Brantford, ON creates beautiful neutral ceramics for your home. Niki, the creative behind Token Home Goods, believes in creating intentional pieces with a focus on quality over quantity. Her pieces are made in small batches and have a minimalist style to them.

Salty Sea Dog DESIGNS (Calgary, AB)

Some of the most unique and distinct Canadian pottery we've seen over the years is Salty Sea Dog Designs based in Calgary, AB. This husband and wife team create adorable animal themed pottery that is almost guaranteed to put a smile on your face. If you ever have the chance to meet them in person at a market, we highly recommend it. The love they have for their creations and their customers is obvious.

Little Blue Canoe (Lake Paul, NS)

One of our favourite online boutiques for a wide range of Canadian-made products is Little Blue Canoe based in Lake Paul, NS. That goes for Canadian pottery too. They stock some of our favourites from JAW pottery and Keramikk.

The Pear Co. (Kirkland Lake, ON)

The Pear Co. based in Northern Ontario is a lovely online boutique run by husband and wife team, Stéphanie & Richard. After dreaming about starting a boutique, they've made it happen and we're so happy they did. They bring together so many incredible products from makers across Canada, including gorgeous pottery from TAV Ceramics.
