What inspired you to start your business?
Honestly, I believe everyone is creative, but sometimes we’re just too intimidated by a blank canvas to try. I saw so many of us, myself included, feeling stressed and constantly glued to our phones. I wanted to create a simple, screen-free way to unwind and just make something beautiful with our own hands. Paint by numbers is perfect for that, there’s no pressure, just the simple joy of painting. My goal was never just to sell a product, but to share that amazing feeling of calm and accomplishment with as many Canadians as possible.
How would you describe your business?
We’re all about providing a high-quality, frustration-free creative experience. We’re very particular about our materials, from the smooth, wrinkle-resistant canvases to the vibrant, non-toxic paints that you never have to mix. But what truly makes us different is how we handle our designs, especially the custom photo kits. Our team personally reviews every single one to make sure the final numbered layout is clear and easy to follow. My background is in graphic design, so I’m a real stickler for making sure every kit is set up to become a beautiful piece of art.
What’s your bestselling product?
Our Custom Paint by Numbers Kit is by far our most popular and cherished product.
Why do you think it’s so popular?
I think it’s because it’s so personal. It’s the only product that lets you turn your own favourite memory, a picture of your pet, your family, a great vacation, into a piece of art that you get to create yourself. When we get a photo, our designers work on it by hand to make sure it translates perfectly into a painting. We want to be sure you can see the faces clearly and that the final result is something you’ll be truly proud to hang on your wall. It’s not just a painting, it’s your story.
What’s your personal favourite product from your shop?
Right now, my personal favourite is the “Soothing View” kit. It just perfectly captures that feeling of peace we’re all looking for. The image of the two chairs by a calm lake is so inviting, and the colours are incredibly relaxing to paint. It’s the one I recommend to friends who need a little break from the chaos of daily life.
