How would you describe your business?
I make ceramics tableware and decorations. After three years of studying in CEGEP in the ceramics technique, I created the LAGOM collection. I mainly use stoneware and use three techniques for the collection : wheel throwing, handbuilding and slipcasting. I create my own glaze and slow the cooling process of the firing to create small crystals in the texture of the glaze.
What inspired you to start your business?
I wanted to create pieces for everyday use while bringing tranquility and a sense of calm to a living space. Design and sustainability are the driving force of my creations, it is important to me to not create trending pieces but timeless ones.
What’s your best selling product and why do you think it’s so popular?
The Pebble Vase
I think it’s popular because it’s a unique shape that is a statement while being easy to incorporate into a space. It can be used as a vase with flowers or as it is. It’s part of the LAGOM collection, so it is stoneware made by the slipcasting technique.
What’s your personal favourite product right now?
My teardrop plates, I love it because the shape is unique while being so useful in everyday use. I love to use the pointy part as a different segment of food or to put a dip bowl on it. The composition makes the meal look appetizing.
What’s your favourite local Montreal shop?
Allo Simone – Canadian chocolate brand based in Montreal, QC.
