Learn more about Lîlît Botanicals

Lilit Botanicals began as a very personal response to a need I could not find met elsewhere. I was searching for skincare that felt grounding, gentle, and genuinely connected to nature, not just in ingredients but in intention. Working with plants, observing seasonal rhythms, and learning how to care for land became a way to create balance in my own life, and that naturally extended into formulation.

As I began growing and harvesting botanicals on our rural property, I became deeply aware of the responsibility that comes with using the land thoughtfully. That sense of stewardship shaped everything from how I source ingredients to how I package products. What started as a small, hands on practice of making skincare for myself and my family slowly evolved into Lilit Botanicals, a brand rooted in respect for nature, slow craftsmanship, and creating products that feel both effective and quietly nurturing.

Lilit Botanicals is a small batch Canadian skincare and bath company rooted in botanical formulation, land stewardship, and slow, intentional production. Every product is formulated and made by me, from the earliest development stages through to final bottling and labeling, in our rural studio in Ontario.

My work is deeply informed by plants. Many of the botanicals used in Lilit products are grown or wild harvested on our property, then dried, infused, or distilled in house. When ingredients must be sourced externally, I prioritize ethical suppliers, fair trade practices, and traceable materials. I work extensively with cold pressed oils, plant butters, hydrosols, waxes, clays, and botanical extracts, selecting each for both performance and skin compatibility.

Formulation is where Lilit truly sets itself apart. I am formally trained through multiple herbal education programs and cosmetic science courses, including advanced herbalism studies, botanical extraction techniques, and professional cosmetic chemistry programs focused on emulsions, preservation systems, and skin physiology. This combination allows me to bridge traditional plant knowledge with modern cosmetic science, ensuring that products are not only beautiful and sensorial, but also stable, safe, and effective.

Each formula goes through extensive testing, refinement, and documentation. I work with precise percentages, ingredient functionality, pH monitoring, and stability considerations to meet both regulatory requirements and my own quality standards. All products are cruelty free and produced in compliance with Canadian cosmetic regulations.

Sustainability is woven into every decision. Packaging is chosen with end of life in mind, with over ninety percent of materials being recyclable or compostable. Production remains intentionally small to reduce waste and maintain hands on quality control, allowing each batch to reflect care rather than mass output.

At its core, Lilit Botanicals is about creating skincare that feels connected, to the land it comes from, to the person using it, and to the quiet rituals of daily care.

Our Rosemary Hair Serum BUT our Herbal Bath Bombs are just behind them!

The rosemary hair serum has become one of our most loved products because it is results driven, thoughtfully formulated, and made without shortcuts. It was created to support scalp health first, knowing that healthy hair growth starts at the scalp rather than relying on quick cosmetic fixes.

The foundation of the formula is a carefully balanced blend of lightweight, cold pressed carrier oils selected for their ability to nourish the scalp without clogging follicles or weighing hair down. These oils are infused slowly with whole rosemary using a low heat, extended infusion process that preserves the plant’s active compounds. Rosemary is widely respected for its ability to support circulation to the scalp and overall follicle health, and using whole plant material allows those benefits to be delivered gently and effectively.

What truly sets the oil apart is the precision behind the formula. The infusion ratio, oil selection, and final composition were refined through multiple test batches to ensure the oil absorbs easily, rinses cleanly, and can be used regularly without buildup. The scent is naturally herbaceous rather than perfumed, which customers appreciate, especially those with sensitive scalps.

The oil is made entirely in house in small batches, allowing for strict quality control and consistency. Customers often share that they notice reduced scalp dryness, improved hair softness, less breakage, and a healthier scalp environment overall. Its popularity has also grown through word of mouth among holistic practitioners and clinics who value formulations that are simple, effective, and rooted in both botanical tradition and modern formulation knowledge.

My personal favourite product right now is our pomegranate body oil. I reach for it daily, not just because of how it performs, but because of how it feels as part of a ritual.

The formula is lightweight yet deeply nourishing, made with a carefully balanced blend of cold pressed plant oils that absorb beautifully without leaving the skin greasy. Pomegranate oil is the heart of the formula and was chosen for its high antioxidant content and ability to support the skin barrier, elasticity, and overall resilience. It gives the skin a soft, healthy glow rather than a heavy sheen.

What I love most is how versatile it is. It works just as well on damp skin after bathing as it does as a massage oil or even on the ends of hair in dry winter months. The scent is subtle and natural, allowing the ingredients themselves to shine rather than masking them with heavy fragrance.

I personally love a bubble tea cafe on Brock Street called Mani Tea. The owner is wonderful and brings such authentic, creative flavours to her shop. Her attention to detail is incredible and there really is no other place like it!
