What inspired you to start your business?
In 2018 I was banging my head against a computer at a corporate job that I hated. I knew I wanted, needed, to do something different. Something that made a change. So after a long chat with my now husband, I decided to buy a ticket to Thailand and signed up for a 2 week volunteer program. I was headed to a place I had never been, where they spoke a language I had never heard, and I was going alone.
I spent 2 glorious weeks living with a homestay in a small Karen (Kah-ren) village, in the jungle of Northern Thailand. My mission: help rehabilitate elephants who have been rescued from both the logging and tourism industries. Working every day alongside these animals was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. To say it was eye opening would be an understatement. I witnessed first hand the cruelty of humans, but also what other amazing humans were trying to do to help these precious creatures overcome years of torture and abuse.
For my last 2 weeks in Thailand, I travelled South. I ate beautiful food, met even more beautiful people, and spent my time island hopping. At one point, I found myself sitting on the shore of Phi Phi Don watching boat, after boat, after boat, smash into each other to make room to unload their hundreds of tourists. It made me sad. And then I realized I was one of them, and I was overcome with emotion. I spent some time talking to my tour guide and he educated me on the damages of tourism, not only to that little island and its inhabitants, but to the marine life and wildlife. That island was destroyed in the Tsunami of 2004. Nothing but a pile of dirt left in the ocean. The Thai people were resilient though, and they rebuilt their beautiful little island. Along came tourism, and now the people of Phi Phi Don are surrounded by garbage, they don’t have clean drinking water because of over-tourism, the triple engine boats are killing the marine life and coral reefs. Maya Bay was closed for over 5 years as environmentalists tried to undo the damage caused by people.
As my time in Thailand came to a close, I vowed to be better. From the remote village of Huay Pakoot, to the bustling streets of Chiang Mai, to the peaceful beaches in Southern Thailand, there was garbage and single use plastics everywhere. There were signs all over encouraging people to enjoy an elephant ride. This is not ethical tourism. I made a promise to myself that I would be conscious of my waste, I would recycle more, compost more, make purchases with intention, and become a more ethical traveller.
Upon my return home, with my newfound take on the world, I realized quickly how awful the cosmetic industry can be. I had never really thought about it before, but the amount of single use plastics used for cosmetics is absurd. And animal testing? It is shameful how many companies still test on animals. In this moment (I didn’t realize it yet), Dreaming Green Boutique was born. My vision to be kind to the planet, kind to animals, kind to our bodies, and at a price point accessible to the average person, began to form….
How do you describe your business?
Dreaming Green Boutique is a natural, eco-conscious skincare brand rooted in the belief that luxury and sustainability should go hand in hand. Every product I create is designed to feel indulgent while remaining accessible and affordable, proving that high-quality self-care doesn’t need to come at the expense of your wallet—or the planet.
I am intentional with every single ingredient that goes into my formulations. Each one is carefully chosen for its purpose and benefit to the skin—never as a filler, never just for “show.” If it doesn’t nourish, soothe, cleanse, or protect, it doesn’t belong. This commitment means that every bar, lotion, balm, or scrub is packed with goodness your skin can actually use and thrive on.
Sustainability is woven into every stage of my process. All packaging is thoughtfully selected to be recyclable, reusable, or compostable, ensuring that your beauty routine leaves as little impact on the environment as possible. By working in small batches, I maintain the highest quality and freshness while also minimizing waste.
From the very beginning, one of my non-negotiables was a firm stance against animal testing. I worked tirelessly to source ethical, certified suppliers, and within months of launching Dreaming Green Boutique, I proudly earned my Leaping Bunny Certification. This was a huge milestone for me, as it represents a promise to my customers and myself: I will never test on animals, nor will I support organizations that do.

Why do you think it’s so popular?
Our Magnesium Spray has become a best-seller for one simple reason—it truly works. Modern agriculture has depleted our soils of many essential minerals, including magnesium. Since our food supply depends on that soil, the truth is: if magnesium isn’t in the soil, it isn’t in our food. This leaves many people unknowingly deficient, often experiencing restless sleep, muscle cramps, tension, low energy, and even increased stress. While oral magnesium supplements are common, they can cause digestive upset and, unfortunately, very little is actually absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract. Most of it is simply expelled from the body.
That’s where our Magnesium Spray makes such a difference. Because it is applied transdermally, it bypasses the digestive system and is absorbed directly through the skin. What’s your personal favourite product?
Right now, my absolute favourite products in the shop are my Shampoo & Conditioner Bars. I’ve been using shampoo bars for almost two decades and conditioner bars for the past couple of years, but I had never found a combination that I truly loved—one that left my hair feeling fresh without turning heavy or greasy after just a couple of days. That’s why I set out to create my own. I dove into learning everything I could about scalp health, pH balancing, and the science of healthy hair, even taking a master class from an award-winning shampoo maker in Europe. The result is a pair of bars that I am genuinely obsessed with. The Shampoo Bars last just as long—if not longer—than a traditional bottle of shampoo, create a rich, luxurious lather, and leave my hair feeling squeaky clean. The Conditioner Bars deeply nourish without leaving behind residue, so my hair feels soft, healthy, and lightweight once it dries. And the very best part? There’s absolutely zero plastic waste. For me, they’re the perfect blend of luxury, performance, and sustainability.
