Denise Foley, a Canadian fashion & lifestyle illustrator, is the business owner of the pretty pink studio. At a young age, Denise spent a lot of her free time drawing, painting & learning new techniques from television and her art teachers. Ironically, she would even sell small custom pieces to the other students in her classroom & even wrote she wanted to be a cartoonist when she grew up in her grade 8 yearbook!
Fast forward to 2014, Denise knew she needed to go back to her love of drawing after graduating from University. Although her degree helped her succeed in her workplace, she knew that her real passion was working in the arts. Today, Denise continues to work full-time, however she spends many late nights and early mornings illustrating and building her business.
Denise pours her love for drawing into each illustration. She’s inspired by fashion, her travels, photography, her friendships and relationships. You’ll notice that Denise’s artwork simply knows how to brighten one’s day. They’re bright and full of colour, and they help to display positive messages to inspire and appreciate the simplest things in life.
Today, Denise continues to illustrate and design in her home studio in Alliston, Ontario. She mainly uses her tablet, using Procreate and occasionally brings out her artist-quality markers. The transition to digital has allowed Denise to expand her line of art to many people; she strives to be as inclusive as possible! You will find most of her artwork available on home decor, stationery and cute accessories like buttons and enamel pins.
Furthermore, if you ever look at the stationery collection at TJMaxx, Homesense, Marshalls, Winners or Homegoods, you may just see one of Denise’s illustrations. Denise is currently a licensed artist with Graphique de France – quiet possibly a match made in heaven!
Denise truly hopes that her artwork will resonate with you and add a sense of happiness to your life.
