I have always been creative and tried many different craft mediums over the years. I picked up polymer clay after toying with the idea for a while, as a way to manage my anxiety during a stressful life event. It really helped and as I practiced more I became better and better at it. Working with clay is now something I do almost every day.
My main thing is handmade earrings and pendants using polymer clay. I also make suncatchers and wall art. I stick to themes around nature, florals, dark cottagecore and Halloween stuff like ghosts and bats. My work is both spooky and cute with strong elements of fantasy. I am self taught from practice, trial and error and picking up tips from other polymer clay artists online. Everything is made in my tiny studio at home which is also my bedroom! My work is small batch and slow made which keeps it authentic. I use lots of materials for different effects on the clay such as paint, foil, resin, glitter, mica powder and soft pastels.
People love the more detailed earrings I make. I did some ghosts holding floral bouquets which have been really popular, as well as pretty much anything with a fox or rabbit on it.
People seem to love how tiny and detailed my work is. I did some tiny charcuterie boards at Christmas that people loved. I think we all grew up playing with dollhouse and polly pocket and most of us never stopped loving tiny things. I also think wearing my work gives people confidence.
I have got really into florals lately, so pretty much anything I make with a combination of spooky and flowers is my happy place. I did some floral witch hats at Halloween that I was really proud of.
I have a lot of other vendor friends who are very talented and I’ve been lucky enough to meet at markets. I’m a big fan of Alysia Myette’s size inclusive fanny packs and cute food themed polymer clay earrings by Nancy at Oh That’s Neat. I also love the prints drawn by Kea at Solaire Sprout who makes some absolutely beautiful art.
