What inspired you to start your business?
I’ve always loved being crafty and making practical, cozy things – especially since I’m someone who’s always cold! Making heat bags (and other cozy goods) gives me a creative outlet that’s flexible and purposeful, while still allowing me to be there for our kids!
How do you describe your business?
My business focuses on handmade comfort items – primarily microwave heat bags – that are both practical and cozy. The heat bags in my shop are sewn by me in small batches using 100% cotton fabric and thread and filled with jasmine rice. I also offer removable and washable covers for convenience and longevity. My process allows me to create in advance, which helps keep things manageable as a busy parent. I take pride in thoughtful, functional design – everything I make is something I would (and do!) use in our own home. While I don’t have formal training, I’ve been sewing and crafting for years and love the challenge of turning simple materials into something truly useful and comforting. What makes my products unique is their balance of quality, practicality, and warmth – they’re made to bring a little everyday comfort to real life!

Definitely my heat bags! They’re super cozy, practical, and available in 20+ patterns so there’s something for everyone.

What’s your personal favourite product?
My favourite print right now is a bright, spring floral pattern with orange, white, and pink! It feels cheerful and fresh, and I love how something so simple can bring a little joy and comfort to everyday life! 🙂
What are your favourite local Manitoba businesses?
It’s hard to pick just one but Empty Cup is definitely my go to for coffee – the iced vanilla latte is my favourite! They make really great drinks and it’s always worth the stop. I also love my candle from Little White Bird Candle Co. – it smells amazing and with a candle warmer, it helps make the perfect cozy atmosphere at home!
