What inspired you to start your business?

I started selling my paintings at local art shows with good acceptance and I decided to go for it!

How do you describe your business?

I began selling my paintings at local art shows, and the positive response encouraged me to dive in fully. I create original landscapes and animal pieces using oil and cold wax, drawn to the beauty of light and atmosphere. My work often has a dreamlike quality, inspired by sunsets, forests, water, skies, and flowers—my most constant muses.

My style ranges from impressionistic to more abstract, depending on the mood of the piece. I paint with brushes, but also explore marks made with palette knives, squeegees, rollers, masking tape, paper towels—anything that helps capture the essence of a place or moment.

What’s your bestselling product & why do you think it’s so popular?

I’m best known for my sunset landscapes, where warm light spills into the shadows, making every form glow.

Almost everyone holds a memory of a beautiful sunset—it’s a shared human experience that resonates deeply. I’m drawn to painting peaceful scenes with soft transitions that often evoke a sense of nostalgia.

Over time, I’ve become captivated by sunsets—the way warm light filters through trees, reflects on water, or gently backlights the landscape. I think a lot about light temperature, and it plays a big role in how I choose hues and values.

Elements like reflections, translucency, rim lighting, and subtle colour blending are both challenging and endlessly inspiring. They push me to keep growing with every painting.

What’s your personal favourite product?

My personal favorite is always my most recent painting—it’s just how it goes. Each one holds the top spot until the next comes along! I find constant inspiration in my surroundings and love pushing myself creatively. Even when a piece doesn’t turn out as I envisioned, the process teaches me more than any book or lesson ever could. Every experience holds something to learn—especially the unexpected ones.

What’s your favourite local Saskatoon shop?

One of my favourite spots is Calories Restaurant in Saskatoon—a charming eatery that blends French-inspired cuisine with colourful, art-filled surroundings. It’s the perfect place to enjoy good food and even better company.
