What inspired you to start your business?
The idea for Maple Beaver was born during a family trip to the U.S. when my four-year-old son asked for a Canadian cap like the ones he saw on others. His innocent request sparked a realization: Canada doesn’t need to be made great again- we already are. And with our pride, we carry our humility. Together, we coined the phrase “Always Great, Forever Grateful,” which captured our pride and gratitude in being Canadian. That message became the heart of our brand. What started as a cap design turned into a broader mission: to create a premium lifestyle brand that reflects Canadian values: kindness, resilience, and excellence, through thoughtfully crafted, locally made products.
How do you describe your business?
Maple Beaver is a proudly Canadian lifestyle brand that creates premium, thoughtfully designed apparel and accessories. Everything we make is crafted in Canada, from yarn to final stitch, supporting local manufacturing and small businesses at every step.
Our brand celebrates two enduring national symbols: the Maple leaf, representing authenticity and unity, and the Beaver, symbolizing craftsmanship and resilience. These values are woven into every product we create, from our bestselling organic tees to our statement caps. At our core, we believe in doing things the right way, even when it’s harder. That’s why we choose to manufacture our goods locally, working with Canadian partners who share our commitment to quality and integrity.
