Adding collaborators, including us @shoplocalcanadaca, is a great way to increase your social media audience and get more people to see your products and get to know your brand.
Steps For Adding A Collaborator On Instagram
1. Start by creating your post or reel just like you normally would in the Instagram app
2. Once you’re ready to post it, click on the ‘tag people’ button
3. Click the next button that says ‘invite collaborators’
4. Now you can search for the account that you would like to invite as a collaborator including us @shoplocalcanadaca (make sure you get the right account with the ‘ca’ at the end)
After you post, the account that you invited as a collaborator will be notified and they have the choice whether they would like to accept your invitation.
If they accept your invite, your post will show up on their account as well as your own account which means more people will see it.
Yes! Instagram now allows you to add someone as a collaborator after you’ve posted. Click the three dots to edit your post and follow the same steps I outlined above.
We prefer posts/reels that have clear pictures/videos that are focused on showcasing you making your product or your product & brand details.
We won’t accept invites that have a lot of personal elements. For example, if you’re talking into the camera about your recent vacation and not showing your product, this isn’t relevant to the SLC audience.

If your content aligns with our mission/values, features Canadian products/brands, and is relevant to the SLC community we will do our best to post it. If we don’t accept your invite, please don’t take it personally and try again. It doesn’t mean we won’t accept the next 🙂
