The opening of our shop really began with a joke! I told my husband that we should open a store that provided cabin, lodge, and wilderness decor since it was hard to find in our area. He decided it sounded like a good idea, and added Mennonite furniture to the mix, and here we are!
We have a warm, friendly vibe to our business. We offer custom Mennonite-made solid wood furniture which is sourced right here in Ontario. Our furniture is handcrafted, and made to last! My husband goes directly to our many Mennonite and Amish craftsmen, and transports the furniture from their shops to our finisher, and then to the store. We also have a variety of decor items, from candles and coffee mugs, funny signs and wall decor, to faith-based decor. While not all our decor products are Canadian brands, we do try to source as much Canadian as we can! Our showroom is small and unique, with log walls, candles burning, and music. We also carry genuine furs and fox/coyote tails from Quebec.
For our furniture products, dining tables and chairs are definitely the best sellers. When it comes to decor, that’s a hard one! According to our statistics from last year, coasters and coaster sets were the best sellers.
Our tables and chairs are made from 100% solid wood, and handcrafted with care. We offer custom sizes and colours, so tables and chairs can be made to match any decor trend. Quality matters to us! Our coasters are pretty nice, really. We have a couple of Canadian options – handcrafted right here in Ontario and made from wood. We also have absorbent stone coasters with funny or inspirational sayings on them, which make great gifts.
My personal favourite in our store right now is our new greeting card line, featuring art from award-winning animal artist Crystal Clarke. She lives right here in Ontario, and the cards are made here as well. I’m really excited about this opportunity to share her gift in art – the pictures are amazing!
