What inspired you to start your business?
I love all things BBQ, and I put sauce on everything!! Store-bought barbecue sauce just never did it for me, so I set out to make my own. I like to think of it as my obsession perfected!
How do you describe your business?
We make gourmet sweet and hot sauces, and we believe in flavour and freshness over anything else! All our sauces are gluten free, preservative free, and made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Chev’s Hot Sauce started in 2023, selling only hot sauces. Laura’s Sweet Sauce joined the lineup in March 2026, and sold over 700 bottles of sweet barbecue sauce in the first 6 weeks! Laura’s Sweet Sauce has been blowing up on social media and in stores, selling out at some stores in the first 4 weeks!
We co-pack with Rootham Gourmet Preserves, in Puslinch, Ontario. Chev has worked full time at Rootham, making sauces and preserves, for almost a decade. Laura has been in the service industry for over 20 years, specializing in sales.

Why do you think it’s so popular?
Smoothly smoky, with a hint of Maple, it is sure to please every palate! We use fresh, locally sourced ingredients from right here in Ontario, Canada. Our sauces are free of high fructose corn syrup and vegetable oils, and we use glass bottles, to minimize waste and protect the environment.
What’s your personal favourite product from your shop right now?
Laura’s Sweet Maple Smoke BBQ Sauce! It is our go-to sauce, in a fridge full of sauces! It’s great on pulled pork, chicken, and ribs. It has better ingredients than store-bought, and half the calories!
