Annette Courtemanche
Annette Courtemanche is a Toronto artist that paints textured, colourful and vibrant abstract art on canvas and paper.
What inspired you to start your business?
I love painting and creating art and it has been my dream to build my art practice into a business.
How do you describe your business?
I am an intutive abstract artist and my art evolves organically. I love building texture with gesso, tools, and marks then laying colours. It evolves as I continue to add colours or more textures. Each painting is unique, I work from a place that tries to quiet the noise around me and my art becomes my way of communicating. I complected my academic studies at the University of Toronto which included art history courses. I also took contemporary painting at the AGO with Michael Toke. I have exhibited at Toronto art galleries and completed 3 commissions for a Toronto Dental practice in 2024.
What’s your bestselling product & why do you think it’s so popular?
Large abstract artwork.
My artwork is created with texture, movement and vibrant colours. I mainly work with acrylic, mixed media materials on canvas and paper. While the art is abstract it is inspired by nature and is a language that speaks to everyone.
What’s your personal favourite product?
My latest painting is a 30×40 inch on gallery canvas and I love it! It is playful, colourful, vibrant and filled with anticipation of the coming summer days.
