Granolust

Granolust is a Canadian granola brand and local Montreal business. They create premium granola in a variety of unique flavours like Montreal Bagel, Mango Chili, and Mocha Chocolate.

What inspired you to start your business?

To be honest, my business started entirely by accident! I was looking for a recipe for granola that I could make just to enjoy for myself at home when a local business owner mentioned that she was looking for a new supplier. Mutual friends put us in touch, she asked me to make her a batch, she fell in love with it and then she started ordering 12 kg at a time for her juice bar.

How do you describe your business?

With its flirty, sexy personality, Granolust turns the “typical” granola branding on its head. Although it actually is a clean, all-natural, vegan, and gluten-free product, the sexy black bags that you can’t see into create a mysteriousness to the product not usually found in wholesome foods. Our savoury flavors, baked in clusters, are meant to go on salads as a healthy crouton, as a topping for soup or avocado toast or even just as a healthy alternative to chips and are truly revolutionary in the granola world.

What’s your bestselling product & why do you think it’s so popular?

Mocha Chocolate Crunch and Montreal Bagel!

I think the branding and clean ingredients really set Granolust apart on the shelves. We realized that although there are many “opening price point” granolas in stores, there actually aren’t any premium ones and so we fit perfectly in that niche. We are ideal for people who really care about the clean ingredients they are putting into their bodies.

What’s your personal favourite product?

My fave has always been the Mocha Chocolate Crunch – with some plain Greek yogurt and a little maple syrup on top – a perfect breakfast or dessert!

What’s your favourite local Quebec business?

Spirulina Health Bar, a fantastic health bar with the best smoothies and kale caesar salads.
