Hi! I’m Vicky, and I am so excited to welcome you to Little Blue Canoe and introduce myself as it’s new owner.
I cannot fully explain my excitement to be starting my own journey with Little Blue Canoe. Much like myself, LBC was born and raised in Calgary, AB but has moved out east to the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia. I am so excited to bring the coasts together and continue to find unique Canadian makers across Canada.
Little Blue Canoe originally launched in 2015, fittingly on Canada Day. It was built on a passion for drawing in Canadian makers and designers to build on a true essence of being Canadian. A genuine love for Canada is what LBC stands for.
I initially stumbled upon Little Blue Canoe through my own love of Canadian made goods. This adorable little online shop spoke to me through it’s sentiment, branding, and products, right down to the lovely handwritten notes with every purchase.
LBC continued to make appearances in the my life whether it be a ‘Happiest Après-Ski’ sweater that embodied my sentiment for skiing or a gift from a friend donning pizza themed gift wrap and an avocado greeting card because it was ‘so me’. Even this past summer, I received a ‘Happiest at the Lake’ sweater as a gift from a friend that included the note ‘isn’t this sweater just perfect for you? And Calgary made!’ – it felt like a sign.
Now 3+ years after LBC’s initial launch, with that same passion and love for Canada and Canadian made goods, I am humbled to have the opportunity to continue to build on this amazing foundation.
As stated from it’s wonderful previous owner Kelly, who is continuing on with ‘The Happiest Collection’ apparel as it’s own entity – Little Blue Canoe will continue to be anchored in it’s enthusiasm for the people, products, and the country we represent.
Thank you so much for visiting, I hope you end up loving Little Blue Canoe as much as I do!
