What inspired you to start your business?

The beauty of PEI.

How do you describe your business?

I paint on seaglass for people to enjoy as pendants or ornaments. My main focus are animals, flowers, birds and garden insects. My clients also love the portraits I do of their pets, be they dogs, cats, horses or other loved ones. I use only wave – tumbled glass I’ve found on the beach. Each piece is unique, as well as the painting on it. I love the idea of taking a piece of history and trash ( to some) and bringing new life into it. My love of all animals, along with the beauty of PEI, helps to inspire me to create each painting with detailed love and quality.

What’s your bestselling product & why do you think it’s so popular?

My pet portraits and cardinals.

Collecting seaglass is a very popular pasttime for many maritimers, and having a favourite animal or pet painted on an already treasured item is thrilling to my clients. My paintings are very detailed for being so small. I use very thin brushes, a good light and lots of patience. People have often marveled at the precision of my subjects, and how I position them to compliment the shape of the glass. As far as I know, there are not many who use seaglass as a canvas, so this also makes my art extra special.

What’s your personal favourite product?

I love all of my creations, but I have piece of pottery that I painted a barn owl on which I refuse to sell. It’s my logo and it turned out so well that I think I’ll keep it.
