14 Best Thrift & Vintage Stores In Calgary
I love browsing through all the racks and finally finding that perfect piece in your size, and curating outfits that you can’t find at the mall. I love seeing what other fashion enthusiasts who own their own shops have chosen, and how their personal taste shines through their collections. I also love showing pieces of clothing a second life, and bringing a new perspective into how they can be worn.
With all that being said, I wanted to share my love of thrift with you by way of highlighting my favourite stores around the city! Here is my list of the 14 best (in no particular order) vintage, second-hand, and thrift stores in Calgary. I hope you check them out, and I hope you find some things you love. 🙂
About the author: Hey! My name is Isabella and I am a personal stylist in Calgary. I have been in the fashion industry in some way for almost all of my life, and I have a passion for all things style! I started thrifting when I was young as a way to experiment with fashion and expression on my teenage budget, and I fell in love with it.
Zoe’s Store
Zoe’s Store is an adorable spot right on 14th Street that offers a collection of vintage and gently-used clothing, as well as fun trinkets and home decor. Zoe’s store, which has been a local Calgary gem for 17 years, is a great spot to find a fun vintage piece, a funky pair of shoes, or high quality second hand items at reasonable prices.

The store itself is clean and organized, and the owner Zoe, evidently has a great eye for unique fashions. Zoe’s Store is a fun place to explore, and a place that is hard to leave empty handed!

I highly suggest a visit to Zoe’s Store on your next thrift trip.

Sweet Like
The newest addition to the 17th Avenue vintage and thrift store lineup, is the Y2K lovers dream. Sweet Like, is a curated vintage store focusing on all things feminine, bright, and early 2000s. The place itself is decorated fittingly with nostalgic movie posters and references to royalty of the time such as Paris Hilton and Britney Spears.

Sweet Like has it all if you are a fan of Y2K style, or if you are looking to add a few cute pieces to your wardrobe. Of course, it is also the perfect place to stop by if you are looking for vintage Juicy Couture, or if you are in need of the perfect outfit for an early 2000s party. I highly suggest stopping by Sweet Like to look through their adorable collection, and to check out the amazing aesthetic they have curated.

HG Vintage
HG Vintage is a 17th Avenue staple, and a must visit if you are shopping in the area. When you walk upstairs into the store, you can see that it is curated and styled with a lot of intention. If you are a lover of band tees, colourful windbreakers, or vintage denim this is the spot for you.

And if you are looking for an outfit for Stampede, boots and all, they have a great selection around the summer months. HG Vintage has a wide range of prices, but I often find it to be on the pricier side. Although you are sure to find some amazing pieces, I would go in with the expectation that the prices are a bit higher than some other curated stores in the city.

Kept Clothing Collection
Kept Clothing Collective, on 4th street, is a great place to pop into if you are on the lookout for fun, affordable vintage clothing. Kept Clothing is a bit of a unique spot, as it is not a primary retailer, it is instead a space for a collective of vintage resellers to present their collections to shoppers.

Due to their being numerous collections all in one spot, Kept provides a unique selection of items in various styles. Kept Clothing is a fun space, and each rack is filled with great items for very fair prices.

It is definitely fun to look around the store and see whose picks you like the most!
Hello Vintage
On 9th Ave, in the heart of Inglewood, you won’t want to miss stopping into Hello Vintage. This lively store truly has it all. The decor is so vibrant and cool, and the clothes are no different. Hello Vintage is on the larger size in comparison to the other shops mentioned, and it is full with different sections of clothes to poke through.

They have a wall of Hawaiian shirts, racks and racks of denim, vintage dresses, overalls, you name it, they probably have it. They have reasonably good prices in comparison to some other vintage stores, and they really do have something for everyone.

I suggest a stop by Hello Vintage if you are looking for a fun new piece to add to your wardrobe, for a costume for really any kind of party, or if you just want to have a good time looking at all their great finds.

Cry Baby Vintage
Cry Baby Vintage is the sister store of Hello Vintage, the entrance is right next door, leading you up to vintage heaven. Cry Baby Vintage focuses only on Vintage dresses, and for good reason, they do this one thing so wonderfully.

They have cute vintage dresses for any and all occasions, from casual pieces to wedding gowns. The vibe in the store is great, and it is such a fun spot to go to look around and try on some fun items. If you are looking for a unique dress for an event or for your summer wardrobe I would definitely check it out.

One tip is before you go, make sure they are open! They are only open from Thursday- Sunday, and I don’t want you getting there and being disappointed to see they are closed.
Change Is Good
Another from the main strip of Inglewood, Change is Good, is one of my favourites for curated vintage stores. Not only is it an aesthetic space with good pieces, it is also run by The Calgary Dream Center, and 100% of profits go to funding their addictions programs. The bottom floor of the shop is full of cute finds, accessories, and shoes that are priced really well, and very well organized.

The top floor is a collective where different resellers can showcase and sell their collections in a retail store. Both the main owners, as well as these resellers, have great collections that are definitely worth checking out. Change is Good is definitely a place you can feel good shopping at, for buying second hand, supporting a good cause, and of course, getting yourself something you love.
Imagine Vintage Wear
Imagine Vintage Wear is another Inglewood treasure. This store on 9th ave is small, but it is full of the most amazing vintage clothing and accessories. The decor and the vibe of the store feel like they bring you back in time and immerse you into a little vintage time capsule.

The items they have curated are so unique and fun, and I love that every time I go inside, I find the cutest and most funky pieces.

Take a stop into Imagine Vintage the next time you are browsing in Inglewood, or you are looking for some adorable vintage to add to your collection.
All Things GQ
All Things GQ in Bridgeland is one of Calgary’s cutest and coolest second hand shops. The store is always full of the most amazing pieces, and you can tell the owner Grace puts a lot of time and love into the items she sells. All Things GQ is amazing all year round, but they really hit their stride in Stampede/ Western wear. Their stampede collection is to die for, and if you are looking for the perfect Stampede outfit (or perfect 10 outfits), you will not be disappointed by what they have to offer.
The Nines
The Nines has been a Calgary favourite, and a favourite of mine since they opened in 2018. This shop always has the trendiest and most amazing pieces. The Nines also has an online shop where they drop all their finds as well, so you can easily shop their whole collection from home. I love having the option to visit the store to do my browsing, or to do it from wherever! The Nines is an amazing spot, and I would suggest it to anyone looking for something cute to add to their wardrobe, whether it’s an awesome vintage leather jacket, a cute dress, or a unique bag.
Value Village
You can’t talk about second hand shopping in Calgary without talking about Value Village. With seven locations across the city it is hard to miss the thrift giant. Value Village offers a range of mens and womens clothing, shoes, children’s clothing, home decor, furniture, you name it. Although all Value Villages are similar I have a couple of favourites. I love the Southland crossing location, it is one of the newer ones, and it is so big, you can spend a whole day there without seeing everything. My other favourite is Silver Springs, this may just be my personal luck, but every time I hit this location I find something awesome. I suggest checking out any of their locations in Calgary if you have some free time to browse, and hopefully find some treasure! And if you haven’t yet, I would suggest checking out the Value Village Boutique on Stephen Ave. It is a mix between curated vintage and your average Value Village Store.

Goodwill
Goodwill is another staple of Calgary thrift, with six shopping locations and eight additional donation centers. Goodwill is a non-profit, and is a great place to support by shopping with them. I always find Goodwill has great pricing, and you can always find some amazing pieces if you take the time to browse. Much like Value Village, I would make sure you go in with the time to browse, so that you really are finding the best items!

WINS
WINS, or “Women in Need Society” is the third and final thrift chain I will put on this list. WINS is a great place to shop, not only for its great finds, but also for its mission to empower women in Calgary!

If you are looking to add some new items to your wardrobe, pick up some funky home decor, or grab an affordable piece to furnish your home, this is the place to go.

I love browsing through all they have to offer, and usually find something awesome to take home. WINS is a winner for great items for great prices.

The Good Samaritan Thrift Store
Last but not least, I wanted to mention the Good Samaritan Thrift Store. Up in the North West of Calgary, Good Samaritan is a hidden gem, and is definitely worth a visit. This great shop is filled with great items at great prices, and the environment they curate is amazing. Whenever I visit I feel right at home, and I always am impressed with the selection they have!
Thanks for reading, and I hope you found some places you would like to visit! It is so much fun to get out there and support your local shops and find some exciting new additions to your wardrobe.
