What inspired you to start your business?
My journey began while apprenticing as a goldsmith, where I fell in love with the craft of creating jewellery by hand. After a few years of learning, I felt called to design meaningful pieces of my own; jewellery that tells a story and is made with care. From the start, it was important to me to create in a way that felt safe and sustainable, using recycled gold, responsibly sourced gemstones, and minimizing chemicals in the studio. My business grew out of that vision: to craft jewellery that’s as thoughtful and ethical as it is beautiful.
How do you describe your business?
My business is built around creating meaningful, handcrafted jewellery that blends timeless design with nature-inspired details. Every piece is made by hand in my rural Ontario studio, where I draw inspiration from the landscapes around me wild roses, leaves, celestial skies, and the quiet beauty of farm life.
I work primarily with SCS-certified recycled gold and silver, available in 10kt, 14kt, and 18kt, as well as ethically sourced gemstones including Canadian diamonds, sapphires, and moissanite. Whenever possible, I choose suppliers that share my values of transparency and responsibility. My goal is to create jewellery that feels both beautiful and thoughtful, so I minimize chemicals in the studio and focus on processes that are safer and more sustainable.
Each piece is made using traditional goldsmithing techniques sawing, soldering, stone setting, and texturing; while also incorporating a touch of rustic, organic finish that makes my work recognizable. I offer custom designs, wedding bands, and engagement rings, and I love helping clients bring their own stories to life through personalized touches such as unique gemstones, hidden details, or one-of-a-kind band textures.
What makes my business unique is the combination of craftsmanship, values, and personal connection. I apprenticed as a goldsmith and have continued my training through advanced courses to refine my stone-setting skills and explore new techniques. Beyond the technical, though, my work is about creating jewellery that feels like a piece of someone’s life, something they’ll carry with them through milestones, memories, and adventures.
What’s your bestselling product?
My best-selling piece in 2025 has been the 4mm hammered brush finish wedding band, crafted in both 14k and 10k yellow gold.
Why do you think they’re so popular?
Each ring is made to order, which allows me to tailor it to the exact size and preferences of the client. What makes this design so loved is its balance of simplicity and uniqueness, the hammered texture is created by hand every time, meaning no two rings are ever exactly alike. This individuality resonates with couples who want a piece that feels truly personal.
The brushed finish adds an organic, understated beauty, giving the gold a soft, natural glow that complements the hammered detail. It’s a style that feels timeless yet contemporary, and its versatility makes it popular with both men and women.
Like all of my work, these bands are crafted using ethically sourced, recycled gold. I believe that part of their success is not only the aesthetic appeal, but also the peace of mind my clients feel knowing their rings are made with care for both craft and the environment.
What’s your personal favourite product?
My personal favorite pieces to create are family rings. Each one is completely unique because no two families are alike the gemstones change depending on the lineup, and the colours and their order are always different. This makes every ring one-of-a-kind, which I love.
What makes the process especially meaningful for me is working with clients to choose the gemstones. Often they share stories about their families and what the ring represents to them, and it’s such an honour to bring that love and history into a piece of jewellery.
The design itself is simple and minimalistic, with a clean, stackable band that allows the gemstones to shine. I often use high-quality lab-grown and ethically sourced gems, which keeps the rings vibrant, sustainable, and accessible. I love that these pieces are not just beautiful, but deeply personal they become daily reminders of family, love, and connection.
What’s your favourite local Owen Sound, ON shop?
I love the Owen Sound Farmers’ Market. It’s more than a place to buy produce—it’s a gathering of local makers, growers, and creators who care about community, craftsmanship, and sustainability. I admire how it gives space for small artisans and ethical vendors to share their work and connect with people. It reminds me of why I do what I do: authenticity, local support, and meaningful relationships between maker and client.
