Learn more about Spirit Babe Co.
What inspired you to start your business?
Spirit Babe Co. was born during one of the most transformative seasons of my life — pregnancy. When I was seven months pregnant, I felt a deep pull to create something honest, gentle, and truly safe for both mom and baby. I couldn’t find body care that felt aligned with my values, so I started making my own all-natural products at home — body butters, body wash, and face care infused with nourishing vitamins A, B, D, and E.
What began as a simple intention to create clean, conscious self-care quickly grew into something much bigger. Spirit Babe Co. evolved from natural body care into handmade gemstone jewelry, meaningful apparel, and later soy wax candles — each piece created with intention, healing energy, and a love for slow living.
At its heart, Spirit Babe Co. is about more than products. It’s about growth, motherhood, creativity, and building something beautiful from a season of change — made for the dreamers, by a dreamer.
How do you describe your business?
Spirit Babe Co. is a Canadian, Indigenous women-owned lifestyle brand rooted in slow living, healing, and intentional design. It started when I was pregnant and began creating all-natural body care that was safe for both mom and baby, and it has since grown into handmade gemstone jewelry, apparel, and small-batch soy wax candles.
Everything is either handcrafted or carefully curated using natural materials and earthy, calming aesthetics. My background in social service work and addiction and mental health really shapes the heart of the brand — it’s about empowerment, growth, and creating pieces that help women feel grounded and inspired. What makes Spirit Babe Co. unique is that it blends wellness, storytelling, and creativity, so it’s not just a shop — it’s an experience built from real life, motherhood, and healing.
What’s your bestselling product?
Spirit Babe Co.’s best sellers tend to shift with the seasons, which I love because it reflects how women live and move through different energies throughout the year. In the summer, my curated dresses and jumpers are incredibly popular, while spring and fall lean more toward my kimonos, handmade apparel, and cozy ruanas. Alongside clothing, my handmade gemstone bracelets have always been a strong staple, and my poetry books — which I’ve been publishing since 2018 — continue to be meaningful pieces that customers connect with on a deeper level.
Why do you think it’s so popular?
I think Spirit Babe Co.’s pieces resonate because they feel intentional — they’re not just products, they’re extensions of a lifestyle rooted in comfort, healing, and self-expression. My best sellers, like the seasonal dresses, jumpers, kimonos, ruanas, and handmade gemstone bracelets, are created or curated with a strong focus on natural textures, relaxed silhouettes, and earthy colour palettes that feel timeless rather than trend-driven.
For apparel, I gravitate toward soft, breathable fabrics and flowy cuts that allow women to feel both comfortable and confident — especially important for moms or women moving through different stages of life. Many of the pieces are layered and versatile, so they can transition across seasons, which is why they continue to sell year after year. The ruanas and kimonos in particular are loved because they combine coziness with a boho, elevated aesthetic — they’re easy to style but still feel special.
My handmade gemstone bracelets are another standout because each one is assembled with intention. I carefully select stones not only for their look but also for the meaning and energy they represent — grounding stones, calming stones, or pieces that symbolize growth and strength. Every bracelet is made by hand, which means no two are exactly the same, and that uniqueness really connects with customers who want something personal rather than mass-produced.
Even my poetry books have become part of what makes Spirit Babe Co. special. Since publishing my first book in 2018, readers have connected deeply with the themes of healing, motherhood, and transformation — so when they buy from the brand, they’re often buying into the story as much as the item itself.
What makes everything “amazing,” in my opinion, is that it comes from lived experience. The brand grew from pregnancy, creativity, and a desire for authenticity, so every piece carries that energy. Customers tell me they don’t just feel like they’re buying clothing or jewelry — they feel like they’re part of something real, something soulful, and something made with heart.
What’s your personal favourite product from your shop right now?
Right now, my personal favourite is the “Club” collection from my handmade apparel line. It really captures everything Spirit Babe Co. stands for — slow, intentional living, motherhood, and real, everyday lifestyle moments. The pieces are designed to feel relaxed and wearable while still holding meaning, with soft fabrics, effortless silhouettes, and a cozy, grounded energy that women can truly live in.
What I love most is that the collection reflects where I am in life right now. As a mom and entrepreneur, I wanted clothing that feels honest — something you can wear during slow mornings, school runs, creative work, or quiet self-care moments. It’s not about fast trends; it’s about comfort, authenticity, and feeling like yourself. The “Club” collection feels like a reminder that real life can still be beautiful, soft, and intentional, and that’s why it means so much to me.
What’s your favourite local Ontario shop?
One of my favourite local businesses right now is a small independent bookstore tucked away in Nottawasaga near Collingwood, Ontario — it’s in this cozy little cabin in the woods, just off the road. I love it because it feels intimate and intentional, and they really highlight local authors and creatives. As an author myself, spaces like that mean so much because they support storytelling, community, and the slower, more personal side of retail. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down, connect with books in a meaningful way, and feel inspired just being there.
