What inspired you to start your business?
I started Advika because I couldn’t find basics that truly felt right, pieces that were comfortable, flattering, and made with care. It was important to me to create something more thoughtful, so I began designing timeless essentials made here in Canada, with a focus on quality, sustainability, and how they feel in everyday life.
How do you describe your business?
I create ultra-soft, cozy, and comfortable clothing designed to be worn every day. I’m self-taught and very hands-on, I sample and I test all my pieces on myself, my mom, and my sister, who are all different ages, sizes, and have individual styles. That helps me design garments that feel good and work for a wide range of people. My focus is on versatile, timeless pieces made with quality fabrics that balance comfort and style.
What’s your bestselling product?
The ultra-wide gaucho pants are slightly cropped with a wide, flowy shape. They move like a skirt but have the ease and practicality of pants, sitting perfectly between the two. The silhouette creates soft movement and an effortless feel.
Why do you think it’s so popular?
I think they’re so popular because they really offer the best of both worlds, they have the flow and feel of a skirt, but the ease and practicality of pants. They’re incredibly soft and drapey, and the fit is relaxed without clinging to the thighs, which makes them flattering on so many body types. The waistband is soft and stretchy, so it’s comfortable and sits nicely, and the pockets are designed so they don’t add any bulk. Plus, you don’t often see pants this wide and flowy, which makes them feel a bit more special and unique.
What’s your personal favourite product from your shop right now?
The Nudge Cardigan is my go-to everyday layer because I love practical, cozy pieces. It soft and it has cozy ribbed cuffs that feel amazing and give it that snug, lived-in feel. It’s truly an “elevated basic.”
