What inspired you to open your shop?
I have always loved to cook and I wanted to share my passion for food and cooking with other kids my age who just wanted recipes that they could do themselves with maybe just a little help from their parents. I also didn’t want to cook only ‘kid’ food but wanted to give recipes that would have kids explore new flavours and tastes. It was also Covid and I wanted to give kids something fun and interesting and delicious to do at home during lockdown.
How would you describe your business?
CucinaKids is a kid’s cooking subscription box. Every season our chefs receive a new box with a cool theme. The boxes have 3 recipes, a STEM activity, a cool patch for their apron, a kitchen tool and sometimes a cool Canadian product to try out.
What’s your best selling product and why is it so popular?
4 season subscription box.
I think it’s popular because it is a fun thing to look forward to every 3 months. You get home and find a CucinaKids box waiting for you on your doorstep and you can’t wait to try out all the cool recipes and share them with your family and friends.
What’s your favourite product from your own shop?
I love the 4 season subscription box because it is something new to try every season to add to your recipe box.
What’s your favourite local Canadian business?
This is a tough one! I have met a lot of great people and businesses while I’ve been working on CucinaKids. I wouldn’t be able to just pick one. I have met a lot of great Canadian entrepreneurs who have been so supportive of my business.
