What inspired you to start your business?

In 2020 I began reacting to skincare products I had used for decades. Determined to find answers I fell down the rabbit hole of all natural and organic skincare formulating. I started with one degree and now have a dozen in a variety of disciplines. I had no intention of selling my products they were purely for myself but friends kept asking what I was using because my skin looked so good. This led to a test in a local market selling my 8 original products and selling out in one day. We then decided perhaps we had something people were looking for and started our online store. We now how products from head to toe and ship across Canada.

How do you describe your brand?

‘Käləjən Skincare represents prestige quality at affordable prices. We believe everyone should be able to affordable exceptional quality natural skincare. We meticulously research only the best ingredients and source locally within Canada by supportingother small Canadian businesses. We produce all our proprietary formulations in our dedicated laboratory from start to finish on our own. We never use prefabricated bases or melt and pour options, everything is hand blended and packaged by us. When we develop a product to launch we decide what we want it to accomplish and then determine the most effective way to deliver the active ingredients to achieve the desired effect. All our products are tested via our group of independent testers to ensure effectiveness and claims before we submit to Health Canada. We take skincare very seriously and everything from the delivery mechanisms of our packaging, to our claims are always evaluated with the safety and security of our consumers in mind.

What’s your bestselling candle?

Drama face moisturizer followed closely by Act ll-Deep hydratation face wash.

Why do you think they’re so popular?

The Drama was one of our first pilot products and it is filled with powerful antioxidants, beautiful rich exotic butters and oils as well as calming and nourishing ingredients. You get a lot of bang for your buck here, serious anti-aging benefits wrapped in stunning rose and lavender hydrosols.

What’s your favourite product from your own shop?

Center Stage, firming neck and decolletage took the back half of 2024 by storm for ‘Käləjən. This incredibly lightweight gel/cream hybrid features relaxing lilac hydrosol, bakuchiol(nature’s retinol) and this little gem called kangaroo paw flower extract. This Australian botanical has some serious firming power behind it. You begin to see structural changes on these two hard to address areas within 28 days. It’s been a game changer for myself as well as many of my clients who began using it all over their bodies to try to replicate these results! This is why understanding how ingredients target different areas within formulations is important and this lead to the creation of our firming sprayable body lotion to better target these areas.
