What inspired you to open your shop?
I was having trouble finding the crafting supplies I wanted from a Canadian shop. Once I found the materials that I liked to work with, I wanted to share them.
How would you describe your business?
I’ve been a life-long crafter and my business grew naturally out of that. Finding supplies that are recycled/upcycled was an added bonus. My business started small and it still is. This has let me get to know my customers and build relationships. I feel so fortunate to get to do what I do.
What’s your best selling product and why is it so popular?
Macrame kits.
It’s so convenient purchasing a kit that has everything you need to complete a project. My kits are all beginner friendly so any one can give it a try, they also make great gifts! As well as all the supplies needed, most kits come with a small instruction guide to teach people how to make the necessary macrame knots.
What’s your favourite product from your own shop?
Recycled cotton rope. It’s so soft to work with and I love all the colours.
What’s your favourite local Rossland BC business?
Our favourite product from Aster & Vine are their wood basket bottoms and t-shirt yarn. This yarn is environmentally friendly because it uses off-cuts from the fashion industry which is so great. With the basket bottoms you can create useful catch-all baskets or our personal favourite is to put a plant in them. We grabbed this beautiful royal blue.
